Amos 4

Introduction:
The LORD has been judging...No matter what He sends...the people refuse to repent for the most part.
The people are stupid like cows...they live a life governed by the herd-mentality doing evil everywhere-- oblivious.
Through all of this they still are religious.  The erring people of Israel still offer their sacrifices of religiosity.
The LORD says, "Prepare to meet your God!"

1:  Listen you cows...(herd mentality)
You mistreat people and you are strong in doing your own things of merriment.

2.  God swears by His Holiness...He is serious and is determined to take action against you.  You will not get away with your ways.

3.  You will look for ways to escape...

4.  You transgress here and there.  You still offer your phony sacrifices that are not accepted by God.

6.  God has sent FAMINE---Yet there still is no repentance!

7.  God has withheld the RAIN and sent DROUGHT.  He has sent obvious judgment by letting it rain in one place and not in another. 

8.  God has sent hardship and inconvenience---BUT STILL THERE IS NO REPENTANCE!

9.  God smites you with "blasting and mildew" upon your crops---YET STILL THERE IS NO REPENTANCE!

10.  I sent pestilence after the MANNER OF EGYPT!  (Hello?)  Your young men have died in battle.  You have suffered loss and cost.  Still there is no repentance!

11.  I have overthrown you as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.  You are "burned" by my judgments like a firebrand pulled out of the fire...you are half burned and smoldering...Still you do not repent!

12.  Therefore, thus will I do unto you O Israel BE CAUSE I WILL DO THIS..."PREPARE TO MEET YOUR GOD!"  (Enough is enough)

13.  God that forms the mountains and creates the winds, declares to man what is in his mind MAKES THE MORNING DARKNESS (Uh Oh!)  (Nothing will go right...It will only go from bad to worse)

God will tread down the high places of the earth....(He will confound all that is exalted.  All that is established against Him.  All these things shall crumble before Him.

For the LORD THE GOD OF HOSTS IS HS NAME!
