There are various scriptures
depicting the return of Jesus from heaven. It is known by several
terms such as “Coming”, “Appearance”,
“Revelation”, “Day of the Lord”, “Last
Day”.
We are told Jesus will come again a “second
time with salvation”.
The
Revelation of Jesus:
1
Peter 1:7
“so that the proof of your faith, being
more
precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire,
may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the
revelation
of
Jesus
Christ”
1
Peter 1:13
“Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep
sober in
spirit, fix
your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the
revelation
of Jesus Christ.”
Hebrews
9:28
“so
Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will
appear
a second time
for salvation without reference
to sin,
to those who eagerly await Him.”
The
Appearance of Jesus:
Titus
2:13 (The Blessed Hope and Appearance)
“looking for the
blessed hope and the appearing
of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus”
1 Timothy 6:14
“that
you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the
appearing
of
our Lord Jesus Christ”
2
Timothy 4:1
“I solemnly charge
you
in
the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living
and the dead, and by His appearing
and His kingdom”
2 Timothy 4:8
“in the future
there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord,
the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to
me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
Luke 17:30
“It will be just the same on the day that
the Son of Man is
revealed.”
The
Day of the Lord:
1
Thessalonians 5:2
“For
you yourselves know full well that the day
of the Lord
will come just like a thief in the night.”
1
Thessalonians 5:4
“
But
you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you
like a thief”
2
Thessalonians 2:2-3
“that
you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either
by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect
that the day
of the Lord
has come.”
“Let
no one in any way deceive you,
for
it
will not come
unless
the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the
son of destruction”
2
Peter 3:10
“But
the day
of the Lord will come like a thief,
in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will
be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be
burned up”.
The Dead Shall Be Raised On the Last Day
1
Corinthians 15:52
“in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the
dead will be raised
imperishable, and we will be changed. “
John 6:40
“For
this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and
believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him
up on the last
day.”
John 6:44
“No one can come to Me unless the Father
who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last
day.”
John
6:54
“He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal
life, and I will raise him up on the last
day.”
Jesus
says “The Day of the Son of man being REVEALED”
is as
the days of Noah and Lot.
Luke
17:24-37 is an awesome revealing regarding these things expressed by
Jesus.
He said, in the same day that Noah went into the ark...
the
same day Lot was taken out of Sodom...
judgment came on the
wicked...the waters were broken up, and descended upon the earth,
taking them all away. And fire came out of heaven and destroyed them
all.
Luke 17:30
“even so shall it be when the Son
of Man is revealed.”
This refutes the Pre-Tribulation doctrine of Darby and
Scofield the Dispensational Zionists.
Be
prepared for tribulation and affliction. Both are coming such as you
never knew before.
