Mom:

I am glad you read the message.  It was a heavy one.

Regarding your question about "looking back"--I believe you should ask God.  He will tell you.  This is one of the key points of my message.  The people must hear the voice of the LORD for themselves.

Many dangers loom on the horizon.  The only safe place is being very close to the LORD.

Isaiah 26:20-21

Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Other Texts of God's provisional safety:

Psalms 91; Psalms 46:1-3; Psalms 32:6-8

Note Noah:

Hebrews 11:7

and

A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.  Proverbs 22:3 (also Proverbs 27:12)

Regarding Lot's wife:

1.She didn't understand the role of God's judgment.*  Most people don't.  They want it stopped for many different reasons.

2.It appears she loved the life there in Sodom more than she feared and loved God.

Lot, her husband, was different.  He was vexed with the deeds of the city.  It bothered him.

God was trying to deliver Lot and His family to safety--she was more interested in the comforts of "home".

Perhaps she was offended that God would destroy the land.

She didn't care that God was offended by their lifestyle.

3.Lot's wife was disobedient since the angels said specifically 'don't look back...run for your life!'

God is speaking to us that He is judging.  He is judging nations, peoples and individuals.  First He starts in His own house

(1Peter 4:17-18).

The people don't notice for the most part.  It is like the Duracell rabbit that keeps on running into walls over and over and over and doesn't get it.  So to do the masses ignore the Indonesian earthquake and tsunami, the hurricane Katrina, the threats of war and so on.  It is the Titanic Mentality

*Judgment is a holy thing.  It praises God.  It separates Him from evil.  He hates evil

Because people SAY they love God and SAY this and that but their hearts are far from God...God has given a spirit of sleep and shut their eyes...the Word of God is hidden to them (they don't understand it) and they don't see the obvious signs of the times.

Isaiah 29:

10.  For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
 11.  And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed,
which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
 12.  And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
 13.  Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
 14.  Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among
this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

So, we see spiritual leaders prophets, priests and those called to rule and govern God's people losing sight to the obvious.

Like Lot, Or, Like Lot's Wife?

So, we see spiritual leaders prophets, priests and those called to rule and govern God's people losing sight to the obvious.

(Apostasy)

Jesus encountered this when He came to His own people and stood amoung the religious system.  He marveled that they could discern the weather but not discern the sign of the times (Matthew 16:1-2).  In other words, they were oblivious to the fulfillment of scripture and how the Messiah was standing right in from of them who they supposedly looked for.  They killed Him for that.  The same will be true in our day as a religious system--wide range of various expressions--professes belief in God, Messiah and scripture but yet will not love God and submit to Him.  "Religion" is only a pretense as the Isaiah text speaks above.  Just talk...Jesus hates that.  It is hypocrisy and stage playing...just a show.

God has been calling the people to come unto Him and get right.  The hour is so late.  If the voice of the LORD is not heeded it will be woeful to the rebels.  It will come to pass, as the dealing of God unfolds, that the stubborn rebelling political leaders of the world will join forces with the stubborn rebelling "religious" leaders and oppose God, Christ and His people just like they did in the first century.  This is written in Psalms 2 and seen in Acts 4 as Christ and His apostles were opposed by persecution to the point of death.  This is going to happen again in this day.  Remember this--Jesus said regarding the signs of His return that they will beat you in the synagogues...Synagogues were the meeting places for God's people in Jesus' day.  And Jesus said they will beat you in the "synagogues" at the point of His return.  He is not speaking of Jewish synagogues!  He is speaking of false and erring religious 'christian' institutions that will oppose God and persecute His little sheep.  Why would they do that?  Because they are not submitted to God.  Their religious activity is for other motives just as the religious system in Jesus' day.  They don't love God as proven by the fact they reject God's servants-- the ones He sends.  They don't have the Word of God abiding in them, that what God is saying, as demonstrated by rejecting the message God is speaking.  This is what they did to the Master.  This is what they will do to His disciples.  So simple.  (It is an honor to suffer for Christ's name).

Have you noticed the erosion of constitutional rights?  The right to representation by an attorney as instructed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  This is no longer the case today since the passing of the Patriot Act.  If individuals are deemed a "threat" they are put in prison and forgotten.  By what criteria if not the lawful Constitution?  They may be tortured.  Yes, United States of America now tortures people.  They are called "insurgents" or whatever name is drafted.  The Constitution was intended to protect people from being FALSELY ACCUSED.  But when the Constitutional procedures of protection are discarded for whatever reason, including "safety", how will people be safeguarded by false motives and agendas of imperfect political systems?  People layed down their lives to create Americas' original Constitutional freedoms.  Why do the masses of this nation let them wash away so easily?  (Answer:  It is a judgment)

I spoke with a young librarian at the library last week regarding the issue of torture in the United States.  I asked her, "Did you know that this country tortures people?"  She said, "No".  I asked her if that was right.  She said, "Well, I don't want to be tortured".  I then told her, "Then don't torture others".  I guess people feel its OK if the U.S. tortures the bad guys as long as it isn't them.  What about the United States being the example to the world?  Remember, this nation was called and blessed of God to lead in godly fashion.  But now that God is ousted from the governments, courts and schools is it any wonder that this nation becomes depraved and tyrannical?  What about the "golden rule"--"do unto others as you would have done unto you"?  It's not right to torture people.  That shouldn't have to be said.  But it does.

The United States used to be a godly nation that believed in God.  Laws and liberties were God-given.  Power and authority was distributed to avoid tyrannical leaders.  Religious freedom was enjoyed.  This is why this nation was formed to leave the tyranny and oppression of England.  But now, this nation, by-and-large, has rejected God.  Out goes God--out goes godly blessings of liberties.  It is evident.  So now the cup is filling up--the cup of iniquity.  And God will shout in great anger and unleash His fury against this nation and against other nations as well (Isaiah 42:13-15).  If God judged His own covenant people Israel and Judah, why would anyone think that He would excuse other nations of the same sins?  Especially when what God did in judgment against His own people is recorded in the scripture that we may freely read?  That is insane thinking.  Delusional.

This is the time to choose with whom will be your allegiances and alliances.  Individuals need to ponder and ask if they are going to remain identifying with a God-denying nation that impugns right and wrong, or, will they call unto the LORD and submit to His Kingdom.  The hour is coming soon when the LORD will call His people out of Babylon.  The choice will be up to the individual.  Like Lot.  Or, like his wife.  What will you do?

Sincerely,

Trevor
